I heard some foreigners have become interested in Korea, thanks to K-POP, and I believe you might have entered my blog because you are also interested in Korea. If you are not, it is okay:) Today, I want to give you some helpful information to understand Korea.

| Location of Korea |
Korea is located in Asia, between China and Japan. I guess you might think Korea is so small, compared to other countries. Even though Korea is not large, Korea lacks nothing people need to live. There are a number of colorful mountains(especially in fall), rivers, beaches, rich land, and many others. Moreover, Korea has a good climate with four seasons because it is located in a moderate latitude, so we can enjoy with both exciting summer and winter activities like swimming and skiing in Korea.

2. Government
Korea is a democratic nation and the form of government is the presidential system. We have a presidential election every five years and adults can vote for the president. The recent president of Korea is Geunhye Park, who is also the first female Korean president.
3. Language
Koreans use 'Hangeul' as their alphabet. Hangeul was invented by King Sejong in the Chosun Dynasty, in 15th century. Koreans are really proud of hangeul. Hangeul is so easy to learn and scientific. A scholar said, 'A child can master hangeul in a week.' Not only that, it is even recognized by UNESCO World Heritage. If you are interested in Korea, I recommend you learn hangeul.
Most traditional Korean food is fermented food, so it contains a lot of lactic acid bacteria and is good for your health. For example, fermented foods include soy sauce, soybean paste, and red pepper paste. They are a little salty, but we use them as important ingredients for most Korean food. They make food more delicious. They are representative tastes of Korea. Another feature of Korean food is its spiciness, just a little. One spicy Korean food is gimchi. Koreans really love it and may not be able to live without gimchi.
Now, I'd like to talk to you about "What is Korea famous for?"

Taehwan Park won the gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics in swimming. Yuna Kim is the top of figure skating. Koreans are really proud of them.

3. A divided country
I introduced two good famous things of Korea, but Korea also has a bad image. Actually, Korea is the only divided country in the world, so war could break out suddenly. However, North Korea has great resources and the Republic of Korea has great scientific technology. I hope Korea will achieve unification and become a strong country.
Did you get some helpful information from my post? I hope so. One more thing I hope for is the unification between the Republic of Korea and North Korea. I wish it would be so!
